We had a very bad day for the start of the golfing season last Wednesday. I went to the meeting with no thought of actually playing. I had to be in Frankfort anyway because I had an appointment. There was a very good attendance considering the temperature, 44 F, and some of the most hardy — or foolhardy, as the case may be — actually teed off. My friend Gladys and I were in the pro shop paying our greens fees for the year when the first group returned. They said they teed off and decided the wind was just too cold and came in.
