Girls soccer team drops two in a row

• The girls’ soccer team was in action twice last week. The Lady Rebels dropped a contest at Anderson County. They then returned home Thursday night to host Western Hills. The Lady Rebels had several chances to score in the first half but were not able to convert. Western Hills got on the board late in the first half and led 1-0 at the half. Western Hills added another goal before Alexis Ellis scored the lone Owen County goal to cut the lead to 2-1. Western Hills added another goal for the 3-1 win. The girls will be back in action tonight as they travel to Grant County.

• The girls’ golf team is getting ready for the All “A” Classic this weekend in Richmond. The girls will play a practice round Friday at Gibson Bay in Richmond. The girls were in action last Wednesday at Perry Park against Grant County and Williamstown. Krista Power had the low round of the day with a 40. Lynsey Farrar posted a 44 while Shelby Power added a 48. Jensen Wainscott shot a 52 and Aly Minch totaled a 56.

• The volleyball team dropped a couple of tough contests last week. The Lady Rebels fell two games to one against Walton-Verona Wednesday night. After dropping game one, Owen County won game two to even the match before the Lady Bearcats took the third game. The team then took part in the All “A” Classic Saturday at Carroll County. The Lady Rebels dropped their first match of the tournament to Gallatin County. The team was in action last night at Carroll County and will return home Thursday night to host Heritage Academy.
