Soccer season winding down

The regular season for the Owen County High School soccer teams is reaching its end.
The boys will play their final home game Saturday at noon against Carroll County.
The girls will close out the home portion of their schedule Thursday as they take on Carroll County at 5:30 p.m.
Both teams will be in action today (Wednesday) as they travel to New Castle to take on Henry County in a doubleheader.
Last week, the boys picked up a 4-1 win over Gallatin County at home. Carlos Perez had a big day scoring a pair of goals. Nash Croley and Cody Downey also scored for the Rebels. James Marston had three assists. Ben Allen picked up the win in goal. With the win, the Rebels improved to 9-9 on the season.
The Lady Rebels had a good week as they picked up back-to-back wins over Carroll County and Bryan Station.
The girls defeated the Lady Panthers 3-1 behind a pair of goals from Morgan Walker and another goal from Amber Gover. Ashley Tyler and Ashley Byers each had assists.
Owen County then picked up a 4-1 at home over Bryan Station.
Gover had a pair goals to pace the Lady Rebels. Walker and Mikala Byers also found the back of the net. Ashley Byers, Andi Wash and Walker added assists. Autumn Gover got both wins in goal.
The Lady Rebels suffered a setback on Saturday as they dropped a 3-2 decision to Frankfort.
Walker scored both goals for Owen County while Mikala Byers had an assist.
After their games this week, the team will prepare for the 31st District Tournament which will be played next week.
