School board tax plan faces public hearing

Members of the community will soon have the opportunity to voice their opinions on proposed general fund taxes for the Owen County School District.
The Owen County Board of Education will hold a public hearing in the Owen County High School auditorium at 6 p.m., Aug. 24.
Owen County Schools Finance Officer Sheila Miller said because the board is looking at levying a rate between compensating and 4 percent, a public hearing must be held.
