The Owen County Rebels were scheduled to make two trips to Grant County last week. The team was supposed to play both Williamstown and Grant County. Old Man Winter had other plans.
Before the flakes began flying, the Rebels were able to get to Williamstown Feb. 2. They were glad they did, for they defeated the Demons, 62-46.
Eight players made it into the scoring column for the Rebels. Senior Michael Colligan finished the night with 15 points. Sawyer Williams contributed 10 points, six rebounds and two assists. Jordan Shelton added nine points while pulling down 11 rebounds and blocking three shots.
The win improved the Rebels to 13-6 on the season.
The Rebels’ other scheduled game last week at Grant County was scrapped due to bad weather.
The Rebels are scheduled to play Thursday night at Walton-Verona. They will travel to South Oldham Saturday night before returning home on Monday night for a contest with Walton-Verona.
