The Owen County High School Rebels went in Thursday night’s game with Carroll County riding a four-game winning streak. It was the first time since 2006 the team had begun the season 4-0.
The streak would come to an end as the Panthers defeated the Rebels 53-51 in overtime in a game that had a definite tournament atmosphere.
Things began well for the Rebels as they jumped out to an early 8-2 lead.
The Panthers would eventually get their legs under them and cut the lead to 8-7 at the end of the first quarter.
