Robert C. Haydon, 83, died March 30, 2009, at Golden Living Center.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nelba Bourne Haydon.
He was a member of Graefenburg Baptist Church since 1972. He retired with 33 years of service as an engineer with Blue Grass Energy.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving two tours of duty overseas, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dan Haydon.
He is survived by a son, Butch (Ginger) Haydon; three daughters, Deborah (Mike) Veres, Nancy (Chuck) Marshall, and Heather (Gene) Norwood; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Paula (Dave) Piper, Marcia (Steve) Lewis, and Nanette (Jimmy) Miller; two stepsons, Barry (Debbie) Winkle and Kenny (Linda) Winkle; six stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be from noon till time of service Friday.
