The 2012-2013 basketball season has tipped off.
The Owen County High School Rebels got things started Tuesday night at home against Western Hills. Results were not available by press time.
The team was looking for its second-straight win over the Wolverines after a 63-55 victory last year in Frankfort.
The Rebels finished last year with a 23-11 record.
Owen County will be back in action Thursday night when they travel to take on Williamstown.
The Rebels knocked off the Demons 83-59 a year ago. Williamstown went 9-18 last season before falling to Simon Kenton in the first round of the 32nd District Tournament.
Owen County High School Head Boys Basketball Coach Devin Duvall has never lost to the Demons.
His teams are 10-0 against Williamstown since he took over in 2006. In fact, his first career win came against the Demons on Nov. 30, 2006 at Williamstown.
On Saturday, the team will travel to Berea to take part in the Roland Wierwille Shootout.
The Rebels will take on East Ridge High School from the 15th Region at 6 p.m.
The Warriors finished 19-13 last season and reached the finals of the 15th Region Tournament before losing to Johnson Central.
Owen County is 1-1 playing at Berea College under Duvall. The Rebels defeated Berea in 2009 and lost to Madison Central in 2011.
The Rebels will wrap up the week by hosting Trimble County Tuesday night.
The Raiders lost their final eight games last season to finish 5-20.
Owen County defeated Trimble County 43-20 last December. The 20 points were the fewest the Rebels gave up during the year and the fewest scored by the Raiders last season.
Much like Williamstown, Duvall has never lost to Trimble County going 9-0 during his career. The last time Trimble County defeated Owen County was back on Jan. 13, 2005.
