Rebels take second in meet

Carroll County hosts NCKC track meet

The Owen County High School boys track team took part in the NCKC Meet April 22 in Carrollton. The Rebels finished second behind only Walton-Verona.
In the 100-meter dash, Kyler Law and Drew Smith finished tied for sixth.
Logan Bitler was eighth, Lucas Lyons, 11th; and Mariano Bolanos, 12th, in the 200-meter dash.
Rhyan Hatchett was fifth in the 400-meter dash.
In the 800-meter, it was Daniel Lopez, seventh; Kaleb Wilhoite, ninth; and Keith Stout, 10th.
Hunter Trenary won both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs. Cory Hudnall was fifth in the 1600-meter and fourth in the 3200-meter. Also in the 3200-meter Westley Johnson was seventh and Riley Montague eighth. Kody Joslin was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles. The 4x100-meter relay team placed fourth. The 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800-meter relay teams each placed second.
In the field events, Seth Shafer was fourth; Andrew Banks. fifth; and Spencer Wilcoxson, 11th in the discus.
Joslin was second in the high jump.
In the long jump, Drew Smith was fourth; Jeremy Smith, seventh; Hatchett. 12th; and Law, 14th.
Shafer was fifth and Banks seventh in the shot put.
In the triple jump, Logan Dunavent was fifth; Wilhoite, sixth; Hatchett, seventh; and Jeremy Smith, eighth.
The team also took part in the Harrison County Invitational on Saturday. As a team the Rebels finished eighth overall.
In the 100-meter dash, it was Law 14th and Drew Smith finishing in 19th place.
Dakota Smith finished 25th and Bitler 26th in the 200-meter dash.
In the 400-meter dash, Law was 10th and Stout, 16th.
Trenary was seventh and Stout 21st in the 800-meter run.
Trenary would win the 1600-meter with Hudnall finishing in 10th.
Hudnall would finish third in the 3200-meter with Westler Johnson 14th.
Pence was ninth in the 110-meter hurdles while Joslin was 12th and Wilcoxson 13th in the 300-meter hurdles.
Both the 4x100 and 4x800s-meter relay teams were sixth while the 4x200-meter team was eight and the 4x400-meter team came in ninth.
In the field events, Shafer was 10th and Michael Wash 14th in the discus.
Joslin finished 11th in the high jump while Drew Smith was eighth and Hatchett 17th in the long jump.
Wash was 12th and Shafer 13th in the shot put.
Jeremy Smith placed eighth and Hatchett 10th in the triple jump.
