The Owen County High School boys soocer team has already doubled its win total from last year. They hope they are not finished.
In three games last week, the Rebels went 1-2.
On Sept. 11, the Rebels dropped a 2-1 decision at Carroll County before defeating Gallatin County 2-1 on Sept. 12 in the Frankfort High Invitational.
On Thursday night, Owen County returned to Frankfort where they fell 1-0 to Spencer County.
Austin Collins scored the lone goal against the Panthers and was assisted by James Marston.
Marston scored both goals against Gallatin County. Ben Allen got the win in goal against the Wildcats.
Despite the two losses, the team is 8-9 on the season with three regular season games left to play.
Owen County has not won eight games in a season since 2008. The Rebels won just four times last season and five times in 2010.
Owen County has a chance to get to 11 wins which would equal their output in 2005. That is also the last time the Rebels reached the district championship game.
The team has also accomplished something this year they have not done in a while.
Earlier this season, the Rebels won three games in a row for the first time since knocking off Carroll County, Model and Frankfort in succession back in 2005.
The Rebels will look to add to their win total when they play at Walton-Verona on Tuesday.
