It is tournament time for the Owen County High School Rebels on the baseball diamond.
The Rebels finished the season with a flourish last week, winning three of their final four contests.
The week began May 15 with a trip to play Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. Owen County lost the game 8-0.
They stayed on the road on Thursday with a bus ride to play at Frankfort. The ride home after this game would be more enjoyable as the Rebels won the game 8-6.
The Rebels would then return home Friday night for a doubleheader against Villa Madonna.
Owen County would close out the home portion of their schedule with a pair of easy wins. The Rebels would win the first game 14-4 and the second game 20-3. The win in the second game marked the sixth time this season Owen County has scored 15 runs or more in a game.
With the two wins on Friday, the team finished the season 18-11.
They will now prepare for the 31st District Tournament that will be held this week at Gallatin County.
The Rebels are scheduled to play Tuesday night in the semifinals against the winner of the Eminence versus Carroll County game.
Owen County defeated the Warriors 14-3 in their only meeting of the season and knocked off the Panthers 3-0 and 17-0.
The championship game is scheduled for Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
