• Owen County High School football team is 3-2 in season openers under Adam Fowler.
• Fowler is entering his sixth season at the helm. His career record through his first five years is 22-31.
• Owen County is 2-0 against Western Hills. The Rebels won games against the Wolverines in both 2011 and 49-20 in 2012.
• Western Hills finished 1-9 last season.
• The Wolverines are coached by Don Miller who is entering his eighth season as head coach.
• The Rebels are playing their first three games on the road. The last time they played three straight road games to begin a season was 2009.
• The Rebels begin the season with hopes of a third-straight winning season. Owen County was 11-1 in 2011 and 6-5 a year ago.
• In other games involving district opponents, Carroll County High School plays on the road at Pendleton County; Gallatin County High School also begins the season away from home as they travel to take on Ludlow; and Trimble County High School plays at Jackson County while Walton-Verona High School plays at Bellevue.
