Rebel Ramblings: Grant County

• The Braves are 0-1 after they dropped a 29-14 decision against Rockcastle County on Saturday night. The game was a part of the Thorobred Bowl at Harrison County.
• The Rebels will be making their fourth straight trip to play the Braves in Dry Ridge. They currently have a two-game winning streak in the series. Owen County won last year’s matchup 20-6.
• Since 2005, the Rebels are 2-5 against Grant County.
• Grant County finished last season 3-7 and failed to reach the 5A state playoffs.
• The Braves are coached by Kevin Siple, the team’s third coach in the last three seasons.
• The 25 points given up by the Rebels on Friday night was the most points allowed in a regular season game since Western Hills scored 26 against Owen County last September in Owenton.
• Since the rivalry was renewed in 2005 and with the exception of 2006 when Grant County won 42-0 in Dry Ridge. the average margin of victory in the series is 8.6 points.
• In action involving teams in the district, Walton-Verona defeated Bellevue 21-6 while Gallatin County doubled up on Ludlow 44-22. Carroll County blew out Pendleton County 61-22 and Trimble County lost 38-0 at Berea.
