Rebel Ramblings: Bellevue

•    The Rebels are 2-2 on the season and are coming off a bye on Friday night. Owen County has six regular season games remaining on the schedule. Three are at home while three are on the road.
• Bellevue is 2-3 on the season. The Tigers played Friday night as they defeated Carroll County 30-8 in Carrollton. It was the Panthers’ first loss of the season.
• These two teams squared off last year in Bellevue. The Rebels came back to Owenton with the 38-12 victory.
• The Tigers finished 7-5 a year ago and advanced to the second round of the Class A playoffs before having their season ended by Frankfort.
• Friday night’s game will be the fourth game for Bellevue against teams from Class 2A District 5. So far, the Tigers are 1-2. Before beating Carroll County on Friday they had lost games against Walton-Verona and Gallatin County. Last year the Tigers went 2-2 against District 5 teams.
• Bellevue is under the direction of second-year head coach Mike Croley.
• In other action on Friday night Jackson County defeated Trimble County (1-3) 18-0 while Lloyd knocked off Gallatin County (4-1) 66-15. Walton-Verona had a bye.
• District action gets under way Friday night as Walton-Verona travels to Carroll County and Trimble County heads to Warsaw to play Gallatin County.
