Raymond “Pete” Johnson

Raymond “Pete” Johnson, age 78, widower of Martha Vermillion Johnson, died March 6, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Scott County on Jan. 10, 1931, to the late Raymond and Katie Moss Johnson Sr. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ireane, Lena and Alice.

 “Pete” was a member of Caney Fork Baptist Church, a retired plumber, and an avid sportsman. He is survived by his daughters, Dianna Storm and husband Roy, and Brenda (Vernon) Lamb, both of Richmond, and Susan Middleton and husband Russell of Lexington; his sisters, Mattie Eckler and husband Jack, and Helen Parker of Lexington, Elizabeth Bradley and husband Paul of Nicholasville, and Lois Hull of Stamping Ground; stepson Ricky Hedges and wife Francine; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and special friends, Patricia and James Fisk of Owenton.

Services were March 10, 2009, with Bro. Sam Glenn officiating. Burial was in Caney Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bobby Burge, Todd Scanlon, Vernon Lamb, and Russell, Daniel, and Stephen Middleton.
