A Corinth man remains behind bars after allegedly shooting a Georgetown man Nov. 26.

Christopher Dennis Jr., 71, was arrested Nov. 27 after Kentucky State Police troopers found the body of 30-year-old Ruben J. Eppele shot to death in Dennis’ home at 2430 Cull Pepper Lane.

During a preliminary hearing Friday, a public defender was appointed for Dennis.

According to a citation made by the Kentucky State Police, Dennis admitted taking Eppele’s life and eliminated self-defense as a motive.

Blood stains and body matter were allegedly found on Dennis’ shirt at the scene.

According to the citation, Dennis changed clothes and showered prior to troopers’ arrival.

More than five pounds of marijuana were discovered at the scene.

Dennis is also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and trafficking in marijuana (over five pounds), charge enhanced by possession of a firearm.

Dennis had been previously charged with trafficking in marijuana.

After appearing in the Owen County District Court Friday, a preliminary hearing was set for Dec. 10.
