At the end of the day, Notre Dame Academy had reclaimed the team title while the Lady Rebels finished eighth.
Ryle’s Nadine Innes had claimed the individual title while Power finished third. With her third-place finish, the senior Power will be making her third-straight trip to the state golf tournament in Bowling Green this weekend.
“Shelby played like the veteran she is,” Owen County High School Head Girls Golf Coach David Wainscott said.
Also on Oct. 1, Debbie Farrar shot a 102; Lydia Merrifield, 105; Morgan Woodyard, 111; and Grace Chilton, 112.
Power will tee-off on Thursday afternoon at 1:09 p.m. at Bowling Green Country Club. She will be playing with sophomore Tristyn Nowlin from Madison Central and junior Madison Saladin from Paul Laurence Dunbar high schools.
Wainscott said it will be a special trip to Bowling Green.
“I get to walk the fairway with her shot-for-shot.” the coach said. “This will be special because the last time I was able to do this was with her sister Krista.”
Power will be looking to made the cut for the first time after coming up short the last two years.
