A reward is being offered for to anyone with information on a break-in that recently took place at Elk Lick Baptist Church.
Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond said the break-in took place Dec. 2 at the church located at 6095 Claxon Ridge Rd.
Hammond said a window was broken out of the basement where the suspect or suspects entered.
“They ransacked through everything in the church,” Hammond said.
A member of the church who lived nearby noticed motion lights on in the church and went to turn them off.
“When he went in, he noticed the women’s bathroom door was locked,” Hammond said. “He waited about an hour for another deacon and went back and the bathroom door was standing open then.”
Hammond said if anyone has information on the break-in, they may notify the Owen County Sheriff’s Office at 502-484-3363.
Hammond said there would be a reward for information.
“If they know anything they need to come notify the sheriff,” Hammond said. “We don’t any other churches broken into.”
