Approximately 25 adults attended the first-district magistrate forum held Monday at the New Liberty Firehouse.
Both candidates, Democrats Todd Spurgeon and Asa Phillips, participated in the forum.
The forum’s moderator, Veronica Gayle, said the usual topics were discussed, including the wet/dry issue.
“(Attendees) seemed to be concerned about magistrates and their positions, whether they’re full or part time and what that means in terms of benefits and the cost to the county.”
