A day of relaxation and fun is what organizers of the second annual community-wide Easter egg hunt are looking forward to after several months of planning.
The community-wide Easter egg hunt is slated for 1-4 p.m., Saturday, at the Owen County Park and Fairgrounds.
Owen County Parks and Rec. Director Buck Beverly said the afternoon will be full of events for children and families, including a petting zoo, face painting by Rebecca’s Toppers, photos with the Easter bunny and more.
“We started planning back in January,” Beverly said. “It was kind of a local word of mouth communication, but we quickly had responses from six or seven different churches out in the community and that tells me they’re wanting these kinds of events, they just need someone to be the lead on them.”
Beverly said community-wide events are an important way to show the community that there are those who care and want to have events for them to attend.
“It’s just going to be a day to relax and enjoy the happiness of the children doing the search for the eggs and having all kinds of activities right there in front of them. And it’s all at no cost.”
