It was not a typical Saturday after Thanksgiving for Danielle Hoop.

Instead of staying home and eating leftovers or hitting the mall for all the best deals, the sophomore was in Charlotte, N.C., running.

Hoop took part in the Foot Locker South Regional at the McAlpine Greenway Park in Charlotte.

She was running against some of the best runners throughout the South. Competing against more than 300 runners, Hoop finished in the top 50.

The race wrapped up another successful season for the sophomore.

Hoop again won the NCKC Conference Meet in October before finishing second in both the regional and state meets.

She will now set her sights on the track and field season, which will get under way next spring.

Last season,  she finished third in the state in the 400 Meter Dash and sixth in the state in the 800 Meter Run.
