Owen grand jury hands down three indictments

The Owen County grand jury handed down three indictments March 4.
• Jacob Sharp, on the charges of second-degree burglary and receiving stolen property, firearms.
According to the indictment on the charge of second-degree burglary he knowingly entered or remained unlawfully in the dwelling of Angela Wade; on the charge of receiving stolen property, firearm, he received, retained or disposed of movable property of another, namely a handgun, Play Station and jewelry of Angela Wade, knowing they had been stolen.
If convicted on the charge of second-degree burglary, he is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years in the penitentiary and a fine of up to $10,000; on the charge of receiving stolen property, he is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years in the penitentiary and a fine of up to $10,000.
Pleaded not guilty, jury trial set for May 14.
• Bruce G. Tackett, 27, on the charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment on the charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, he knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, namely heroin, a schedule I narcotic drug; on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, he possessed drug paraphernalia.
If convicted on the charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, he is punishable by imprisonment for up to three years in the penitentiary and a fine of up $10,000; on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia he is punishable by imprisonment for up to 12 months in the county jail and/or a fine of up to $500.
Pleaded not guilty, jury trial set for May 14.
• Sean E. Armstrong, 42, on the charges of two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of promoting sexual performance by a minor.
According to the indictment on the two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, he had sexual contact with a person less than 16 years old, or he engaged in masturbation in the presence of someone less than 16 years old and knowing or having a reason to know that person was present; on the two counts of promoting sexual performance by a minor, in that knowing the character and content thereof, he produced, directed or promoted any performance which included sexual conduct by a minor. More specifically, he directed a minor less than 12 years old to masturbate in front of him for sexual gratification.
If convicted on the two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, he is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years in the penitentiary and a fine of up to $10,000 and shall be sentenced to a period of post-incarceration supervision for a periof of five years following release from incarceration upon expiration of sentence of completion of parole; on the two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, he is punishable by imprisonment for up to 20 years in the penitentiary and a fine of up to $10,000 and shall be sentenced to a period of post-incarceration supervision for a period of five years following release from incarceration upon expiration of sentence or completion of parole.
