As the summer months quickly approach, some Owen countians may be looking for the perfect homegrown item to complete their warm-weather meals.
They need not look any further.
The first Owen County farmers’ market of the season was held Friday on the courthouse lawn.
Owen County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Science Judy Hetterman said 15 vendors have signed up so far, but 25 are expected to set up as warmer weather approaches.
Hetterman said the market brought with it a variety of items grown by local producers.
