The 2012 fall sports season is getting underway this week for the Owen County High School.
The Lady Rebels will begin the volleyball season on Monday at Trimble County. Owen County is hoping for better results against the Lady Raiders than they had in 2011. The two teams met three times last season with Trimble County winning all three matches.
At the Eighth Region All ‘A’ Classic, it was Trimble County who ended the longest winning streak in Owen County’s short volleyball history at seven matches in a row.
The Lady Rebels also won seven consecutive matches in 2010.
Both the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams will be on the pitch for the first time this season as well.
The boys will get things started at home Tuesday against Simon Kenton.
The girls will be in action for the first time on the road as they take part in the Capital City Classic on Monday in Frankfort.
The football team will begin the season on Aug. 17 at Lloyd Memorial in Erlanger.
