Social media over the last few years has changed the way the world operates. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and other social media sites have become a very effective marketing tool for many businesses.
The Owen County Extension Service has scheduled a couple of programs to help small business owners use social media to their greatest advantage:
Social media marketing overview
The event will be held Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Owen County Extension Office.
This class takes a look at the variety of social media and Internet marketing ideas and how to utilize each one to reach customers. The cost is $25 and preregistration is due by Jan. 7.
Developing social media marketing
This class will be held Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Owen County Extension Office.
This is a hands-on workshop where attendees will create their internet marketing message that can be used across all social media platforms. The cost is $50 and preregistration is required by Jan. 7. There is a maximum class size of 20 and lunch will be provided. 3.
The second class builds on to the first one, but both are stand-alone programs. There is a discounted preregistration for $60 if registering for both classes.
If interested, attendees can preregister at the extension office. Payment will be required with preregistration.
