Owen County Senior Citizens Club: Kelly Olds honored for service

We went to Jewell’s at Warsaw for our April 16 meeting, our Easter meal. There were 11 members present.
We had a short meeting and presented Marlene Mason the honorary lifetime membership award for 29 years of service to the Owen County Senior Citizens Club. She is also our chaplain.
We do not really live unless we have friends surrounding us like a firm wall against the winds of the world.
We finished our lunch and returned home.
Our May 21 meeting was at our regular meeting place. We said the pledge to the flag and Marlene opened with prayer. Scripture was given.
We held roll call with 12 members present.
Lenora Kelly Olds was given the honorary lifetime membership award for 30 years of service to the club.
The secretary, treasurer and chairman’s reports were given. Old and new business was discussed. We planned to go to Hodgenville.
Our June 18 meeting was called to order and we said the pledge to the flag. Scripture was read by Marlene Mason. We took roll with 14 members present. The secretary and treasurer’s reports were given.
In old business we changed the date for the Hodgenville trip to July 19.
Plans for Sweet Owen Day were discussed. We asked who would be working and also for donations.
In new business, Sharon Miskell was voted in as media correspondent to do the news on special events.
We closed our meeting with prayer by Marlene.
