The trial of a Corinth man who allegedly murdered a Scott County man in 2010 is set to begin later this month.
Christopher Dennis Jr., 72, was arrested Nov. 27, 2010 after Kentucky State Police troopers found the body of 30-year-old Ruben J. Eppele shot to death in Dennis’ home at 2430 Cull Pepper Lane.
Dennis is charged with murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and trafficking marijuana over five pounds.
State police were called to the home around 7:10 p.m. on Nov. 26, 2010 after receiving information on a shooting.
In a 2010 press release, state police said Dennis likely shot Eppele in a “possible drug-related meeting.”
More than five pounds of marijuana was discovered at the home.
According to state police in 2010, Dennis had a lengthy criminal record and had only been out of prison for a few years before the alleged 2010 shooting.
Dennis has remained in the Carroll County Detention Center since his arrest.
The trial is set to begin Jan. 17.
