Owen County Fan Fair plans moving ahead as NASCAR Sprint Cup race date nears

-A A +A

The NASCAR Nation is on its way and Owen County is working on getting ready.
With thousands of Sprint Cup fans marking their calendar for early July, plans for the first-ever Owen County Fan Fair are progressing.
The Owen County Visioneers, an outreach of Leadership Owen County, have been organizing the event to showcase the best the community has to offer and hopefully plant the seed that will result in more visitors through the months and years to Owen County.
Fan Fair will be located on U.S. Highway 127 North at the lot directly in front of the Owen County Industrial Park and will feature a welcome center, large tents and a mall area.
Organizers say this is a time for all Owen County businesses and citizens to display what they offer.
The Fan Fair will consist of fair-like games and events with plenty of food for travelers.
Each visitor will also receive a small gift package that will include a brochure detailing restaurants, lodging, shops and information about Owen County.
The Fan Fair will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 6-10.
July 8 will be designated Owen County Day and will include the Owen County Farmers’ Market operating at the site for one day.
Spaces will be allotted to vendors at no cost.
