Owen Co. Middle School runners race in Lexington

More than 300 runners representing 37 teams gathered at the starting line Saturday in Lexington. Included in the sea of runners were members of the Owen County Middle School cross-county team.

Haley DeCandia, Amber Gover, Morgan Walker, Megan Barnes and Maggie Barnes took part in the race. The best finish of the day for the Rebels came from eighth-grader Julie Spaulding, who finished the race in 95th place.

Cody Downey ran in the boys’ race and finished the course in 17:47.69.
