Owen Co. Emergency workers prepare for the big shake up

-A A +A

For the last week, the Owen County Emergency Management has been preparing for a big shake-up.
On June 16, Kentucky Emergency Management and its partners kicked off a week-long earthquake exercise.
The exercise, designated as Capstone 14, was designed to strengthen partnerships between local, state and federal governments and the private sector.
Under the direction of the Central United Earthquake Consortium board of directors, Capstone 14 had been three years in planning and is based upon the occurrence of a damaging earthquake in the New Madrid Seismic Zone.
