What a beautiful day it was Sunday. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. It was nice to see so many people in church.
Our church opened up with “The New Beginnings” choir singing “He Has Made Me Glad” and “We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise.”
Joy and her puppet told us the real meaning of Valentine’s Day — job well done by all.
Bro. James’ sermon was titled “Are You Willing to Suffer Persecution for Jesus?” taken from Matthew 12.
Salvation comes with a great price and if we are going to take up our cross and follow Jesus, then we must be prepared to go with him to the place of suffering if that is what it takes to bring salvation to those around us. We must be willing, as he was, to risk rejection. People may disappoint us, even despise and persecute us. Take a moment to reflect on the price that God was willing to pay in order to bring salvation to you.
At 6 p.m. Sunday, our group, “New Beginnings,” will practice — come and join in and learn some new songs.
At 6 Wednesday night, we’ll have a prayer meeting.
Remember in prayer Dee Wedding, Lou Ann Tupts, Rebecca Gaines, David New, Linda and Bill Karsner, the family of Paul Smith Jr., and the rest on our extended prayer list.
Happy birthday to Micah New, Dee Wedding, Willis Wilhoite, Ricky French, Charity Humble, Jim Bob Bondurant, Vanessa Wilhoite, Lela Maude Hawkins, Rebecca Brinker and Dillon Smith.
