Calling the new book offered by the Owen County Extension Service a cookbook wouldn’t be telling half the story.

Owen County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Science Judy Hetterman said the new book, “Living Well: More Than a Cookbook,” offers much more than traditional cookbooks including nutritional information, etiquette tips, financial pointers and plenty of helpful information about running a successful home.

The book features recipes from all 50 states, offered by extension agents from across the country. Each state’s recipe reflects part of that state’s culture and heritage.

Hetterman spearheaded the book for a national audience and is one of the main agents responsible for its publication.

All of the pictures in the book were taken by a photographer in northern Kentucky.

The project, which started in April 2009, is for sale across the country and is available at Owen County Extension Office in Owenton for the discounted price of $25.
