What a beautiful November weekend.
Although it was a little windy, we still enjoyed it. I wanted to spend some time with Jade and Dani, so on Saturday I went to Lawrenceburg to pick them up for the weekend. We came back to Frankfort and went to visit with Ray, Gina and Leslie Jesse for a while.
This was the first time they had gotten to see Dani since she was born. We spent several hours over there hanging out playing with Dani.
My friend Ramon Chism had called to say that he was planning on fixing dinner for us all later that evening so he could see them as well. Kirby will be coming home next Wednesday for Thanksgiving break. I know he is going to spoil her a little more as well.
Dani is such a beautiful little girl. We all enjoyed spending time with the both of them.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, we have planned to do something a little different this year. I have normally always had Thanksgiving at our house. However Glenn and Evelyn have decided to have it at their house this year. Evelyn is really excited and it will be a nice change for all of us.
Kirby, Jade and Dani will have a very busy weekend and have a lot of catching up to do. Kirby will soon be finished with his program at Bluegrass Challenge and will be graduating Dec. 17. This program has really helped him to grow up and be the man we all knew he could be. I want him to know just how proud we all are of him. Way to go Kirby. We love you and miss you every day and can’t wait till you’re back home with us all.
On a sadder note, our community has recently lost another member.
Friday evening, I received a call from a dear friend telling me that Ralph Douglas Burke had passed away. As many of you know, Ralph was Lee’s father and my father-in-law for several years. He meant a great deal to my family and I and will forever be in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
Jan Riddle recently sent me some news she’d like to share.
Jan recently went to Lexington to visit with her niece Cynthia - Amos’s youngest daughter. Cynthia recently purchased a new home and Jan had been planning on checking it out. They went out for lunch and later hit a few antique shops as well. They had a great time and enjoyed spending the day together.
Jan also said her brother Silas recently fell and hurt his back and has been in a lot of pain.
Jan and her nieces Paula and Cynthia picked her up to go to Louisville for more antique shopping.
They also stopped by to pick up Clara (Jan’s sister) and another niece Ruth.
They later had lunch at Captain Quarters in Louisville before heading back to Shelbyville for more shopping at some of the antique shops. Jan said she really enjoyed the time out with the girls and she doesn’t get the chance to do that very often anymore.
Jan and her brothers Revel and Silas are planning on going to their sister Clara’s house for Thanksgiving dinner Saturday.
Jan would also like to mention that her granddaughter Amanda will soon be getting married. Amanda is the daughter of Jan’s son Rusty Keith.
I suppose that’s about it for this week, until we meet again, please be safe and please continue to keep all our sick in your thoughts and prayers.
