The Maurice Bowling Middle School girls soccer team has gotten out of the gates fast this season.
The Lady Rebels are 5-0 after posting impressive wins. The team did not give up a goal in the first two games defeating Williamstown, 10-0, and St. Patrick, 8-0.
They also have a 6-3 win over Henry County High School.
The team played its closest contest of the season so far against Calvary Christian at Walton-Verona.
They trailed 1-0 at the halftime before scoring a pair of second half goals en route to the 2-1 win. That same day they knocked off Walton-Verona 8-1.
Against Walton-Verona, Destinee Epperson notched the 48th and 49th goals of her career and will be looking for number 50 this week.
The boys do not have a win yet in four tries.
Despite playing hard, they have lost games to St. Patrick, Henry County, Calvary Christian and Walton-Verona high schools.
The teams will be back on the pitch this week on Thursday at home as they take on Grey Middle School.
The first game gets under way at 6 p.m which will be followed by the second at 7 p.m.
Both teams will then travel to Pendleton County for games on Saturday. The action begins on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
