PFC Ryan G. Marston of Owenton graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island Nov. 23.
Marston successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD Parris Island as one of 83 recruits in Training Platoon 1091. While in basic training, Marston obtained expert on the firing range and was a firing-squad leader. Following 10 days home on leave, he will report to Camp LeJeune, N.C. for 29 days of military combat training followed by his military occupational specialty training as an aviation mechanic in Pensacola, Fla.
