July 30, 1908 100 years ago The heaviest wind storm of the season accompanied by hail and lightning swept over the city of Frankfort yesterday afternoon damaging nearly every shade tree in the city and snapping off telephone and telegraph polls. The Lexington and Interurban Railway Company, and the local street railway company came in for their share of bad luck, as the traffic between Frankfort and Versailles was tied up for most of the afternoon and night. The storm came up so suddenly that those not aware of its approach were caught out for a thorough drenching.
