Local author to read from holiday book

Georgia Green Stamper’s essay, “Shepherds in Bathrobes,” is included in Kentucky’s Twelve Days of Christmas, the latest book offering from Kentucky Monthly.
Described by critics as a landmark anthology, the book features works from Harriette Arnow, Wendell Berry, Irvin S. Cobb, James B. Goode, Stephen M. Vest, Frank X Walker, Robert Penn Warren, and many others, including Stamper.
She will read with Kentucky Monthly editor Stephen M. Vest and other contributors to Kentucky’s Twelve Days of Christmas Nov. 27 at the Paul Sawyier Public Library in Frankfort, 6:30 to 8 p.m. and at the Carnegie Center in Lexington on Nov. 29 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
“Shepherds in Bathrobes” first appeared in The News-Herald in Stamper’s column Georgia: On My Mind. It was later republished in Kentucky Monthly Magazine and in her book. “You Can Go Anywhere.”
