When I was younger and there was trouble on the bus, our bus driver would either stop the bus and sit there for a while or take the kid off the bus and bust their butts. When the child got home their parents would do the same thing. I understand that is now against the law, but no serious action is being taken. Now days the bus driver puts the troubling kid up front and sometimes they will get ISD, but very rarely. Being a bus driver is hard enough, but adding the screaming, yelling, profanity and name-calling makes it a lot harder. Our bus monitors also have a hard job. They get name-called and yelled at. Their jobs are also hard to handle.
I have personally talked to the director of buses and the board of education about my child being bullied on several occasions and no serious action was taken. The president has a program to stop bullying and our school system is not taking any action to abide by it.
Please talk to your children about being bullied and bullying children. Bullying is a serious thing and it needs to be stopped. One person’s voice is falling on deaf ears. Something needs to be done by the whole community. Please allow your voice to be heard. I cannot stop this alone. I need your help.
If you agree with me and your child is also having problems on their bus, please call the director of buses or the board of education. Please allow your voice to be heard too.
One person’s opinion.
