Letter to the editor: Sacrifices of veterans should be remembered

It’s me again, Margaret A. Murphy.

Enthusiasm for the New Liberty Archives with a family research center and the vision for tourism is on the increase within the minds of our people of Owen County. Discussion and your thoughts revealed is good.

Now, let’s consider adding a veterans memorial – a notable and enduring memory of their service for our country at the same location.

Thus each veteran is honored with a personal tribute and his name and death date. Therefore, every day would be a “Memorial Day” for a Kentucky and Owen County veteran, deceased and living.

With respect, love and determination, we must remember our veterans of Owen County.

Can we do it? Yes we can.

Be a help, not a hinderance.
