It’s Margaret A. (Kasner) Murphy again.
My thanks and appreciation to the Kentucky American Water Pumping Station II at “Hardin’s Landing” for our invitation to share in this very special celebration. More water to the people.
Lela M. Karsner Hawkins, 93, Margaret A. (Karsner) Murphy, 91, and Christina Rice all are included with the Hardin cousins.
Thanks to our friend Bro. David Wotier for remembering us on this day.
Hardin’s Landing was the home base for the renowned Fall City Boat location, very near the old “Mint Spring.” It was owned by Wm. David Hardin, grandfather to Voris (deceased), and Scott Hardin of this generation.
My ancestral grandfather, Benjamin Hardin, and Enes Hardin were pioneers in their lifetime. Both served in the Revolutionary War, later marrying into the Ashby family in this area. The Hardin cousins of today have a close relationship.
I awake each morning facing the beautiful Kentucky River as it winds its murmuring way through this valley and others to the Ohio River and to the mighty Mississippi. What a blessing we all share in our homeland.
God bless America.
