Before I write this letter I want to make a statement.
This letter is not written with malice or hard feelings. I want to say something I have witnessed quite often in the last few years.
A lot of people seem to think that old people have no feelings. An incident that happened recently prompted me to write and say what I have on my mind – and you who know me know I say what I think.
I have been in the Ogden family more than 65 years, and to my knowledge, this is the first election in those years that an Ogden hasn’t worked the polls.
Mind you, I think it was time Marvin and I were replaced with someone younger, but I feel we should have been told. I found out when I called to find out why we hadn’t received our cards to attend the instruction class.
I am 83 and Marvin is 93. We still maintain our home and keep all the bills paid on time. Marvin raises a garden and I freeze and can the harvest from his labor.
We are old, but we still have feelings.
