Letter to the Editor: Help make Christmas brighter for a needy child

By The Staff

There is nothing more rewarding than to see the eyes of a small child light up on Christmas morning after seeing the presents left by Santa.

Unfortunately, there are many children in our area that will not be able to share that experience.

The Campbellsburg State Police Post and the Women’s Auxiliary have teamed up to provide many of these children the opportunity to enjoy Christmas this year with our “Shop with a Trooper” program. Troopers will pick up the selected children from their homes and take them shopping for gifts not only for themselves, but for other family members as well. After shopping we will take the children back to the Post and have lunch and a visit with Santa. Our goal is to raise enough money to give each child $200 to spend on their family. The children are selected from the post five counties of Oldham, Gallatin, Trimble, Owen, Henry and Carroll.

The success of the program relies on the generous support of donors. If you would like to assist those less fortunate in our community, we would greatly appreciate any help that you may be willing to provide. All monies donated to the program are tax deductible under 501 3(c). Make checks payable to: KSPPA Trooper Campaign. All money donated goes directly to needy families.

Together all of us can make a difference. Help us in helping the future generations understand the meaning of caring. Please contact me at 502-532-6363 for additional information.

Thank you for your support!
