Letter to the editor: David Williams will bring positive change to Owen Fiscal Court

-A A +A
By The Staff

To the voters in Owen County District 4.

David Williams is running for district 4 magistrate which includes the areas of Wheatley, Monterey, Gratz, Pleasant Home and Perry Park. Mr. Williams is a family man, active in his church, a businessman, well-educated, a firefighter and first responder, and an individual with the utmost integrity. He is someone who will always research facts surrounding any problem prior to giving his decision. He is one who will listen to you, one you can rely upon if help is ever needed and has the ability to meet/deal with the public in a professional manner. Mr. Williams is a person who will never be pressured by any group and is not part of the ‘Good Old Boys’ regime. His voice and vote is independent and if elected will be for the people he serves, not only in district 4, but entire Owen County as well.

The current/incumbent magistrate of district 4 – Mr. Ray Smith – has stated he is a strong voice in fiscal court, works hard for our district and is not a “yes man.” These statements are all questionable in my opinion. Regarding his ability, I have attended fiscal court meetings and have also heard negative comments regarding such from others in our county. In Smith’s four-year term, he has only recognized a couple of his constituent areas (Gratz and maybe one other). We need to clean house in our district. So when you go to the poll on May 18, let your voice be heard and cast your vote for Mr. David Williams to represent all areas of district 4 as our magistrate. Thank you.
