The 2014 Leadership Owen County participants began their yearlong program on Feb. 7 and with the Leadership Skills Retreat.
Angie Woodward led a discussion about Owen County’s history, strengths and how the group would like to see the county move forward.
A Meyers Briggs Type Indicator Test was administered to aid in understanding how personality types can be used to form a cohesive group and how each individual can use their strengths to the betterment of the group.
Ron Crouch spoke about the county’s demographics as well as future trends in population and employment.
The last segment of the day was a discussion about the issues facing Owen County.
The most important issues were ranked and recorded for future use.
On Feb. 8, previous Leadership Owen County participants presented the projects their groups undertook and passed on advice about how to make this year’s Leadership Owen County project a success.
