The Owen County High School softball team is off to a good start. In fact, they are off to their best start since 2007.
The Lady Rebels are 3-0 on the season after beating Williamstown on Thursday in Owenton. Owen County got off to a quick start in the game and never looked back as they rolled to the 13-3 victory.
With the win the Lady Rebels improved to 3-0 on the season. The start is the best since 2007 when Owen County started that year 4-0.
So far this season the team has not had any trouble scoring runs.
In the three wins, the Lady Rebels have plated 40 runs while only giving up a total of six runs.
The team will be heading south for spring break. The Lady Rebels will be playing in the Play It Again Classic in Clarksville, Tenn. on Friday and Saturday.
They will then return home on Monday for a 31st District contest with Gallatin County.
The game will be the first between the two schools since last season when the Lady Wildcats defeated Owen County 3-2 to capture the 31st District championship. Gallatin County is also off to a 3-0.
