The Owen County High School girls soccer team played a pair of home games last week.
In one game, the team picked up a big district win and lost the other to a 10th Region opponent.
On Sept. 11, the Lady Rebels hosted Carroll County High School. After playing to a scoreless tie at the end of regulation and overtime, the two teams settled matters in a shootout with the Lady Rebels coming out on top in the 1-0 win.
Owen County’s Autumn Gover got credit for the shutout in goal.
It was the Lady Rebels’ second win over the Lady Panthers this season.
Owen County won the earlier match up 2-0 back in August.
It is the Lady Rebels’ fourth-straight win over the Lady Panthers dating back to last year. In those four victories, Owen County has allowed just one goal.
The team remained at home on Saturday as they took on George Rogers Clark High School.
The Lady Cardinals hail from the 10th Region and came to Owenton with a record of 2-3-2. They would leave town with another win as they defeated the Lady Rebels 7-1.
Amber Gover had the teams’ lone goal. Ashley Smith assisted on the Gover goal.
The Lady Rebels will play a pair of games at home on Saturday. They will play Henry County at noon followed by Rowan County versus Henry County at 2 p.m.
Following that game, the Lady Rebels will take on Rowan County High School.
