Lady Rebels finish second

The Owen County High School girl’s track team brought home a second-place finish from the Carroll County Invitational  Friday night. The Lady Rebels finished just four points behind first-place finisher Switzerland County from Indiana.
In the 100-meter dash, it was Andi Burford crossing the finish line first with Hailey Hatchett coming in third; Julie Herrman, eighth; and Jessica Herrman, ninth.
Julie Hermann was fifth and Jessica Herrman sixth in the 200-meter dash.
Mikala Byers finished second in the 400-meter dash with Emily Bibb finishing fourth.
In the 800-meter run, it was Autumn Hunter, third; Samantha Tamplin, fourth; and Byers, fifth.
Hunter won the 1600-meters while Tamplin was third.
Hunter would finish second in the 3200-meter with Tamplin again finishing third.
Audrey Hager was second in the 100-meter hurdles with Nicole Jacobs, third.
Jacobs finished second in the 300-meter hurdles with Hager coming in fourth.
The 4x200-meter relay team finished first while the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800-meter teams each placed second.
In the field events, Paula Rivera captured the discus with Sara Wilhoit finishing in fifth; Hannah Hatchett, seventh; and Veronica Chisholm, eighth.
Jacobs finished second in the high jump.
Rivera was second in the long jump with Jacobs, third; and Bibb, fifth.
In the shot put, Hailey Hatchett placed third; Hannah Hatchett, sixth; Wilhoit, seventh; Chisholm, eighth; and Jessica Herrman, ninth.
