Lady Rebel runners receive recognition from coaches organization

The Owen County cross country team enjoyed a great deal of success in 2008.

The middle school team captured the NCKC Team Title with Julie Spaulding claiming the individual title.

Danielle Hoop had another solid season as she captured the NCKC title and finished second in both the regional and state meets.

In light of their achievements, Hoop and Spaulding received postseason accolades.

Hoop, a sophomore, was named to the Kentucky Track and Cross County Coaches Association First Team as well as KTCCCA Super Team. This team consists of the top eight runners in the state in class A, class 2A and class 3A combined. She was also named KTCCCA First Team Academic All-State.

Hoop also received honors from the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. She was named to the first team all state and first team academic all state. She was also named class A region 5 first team all region squad.

Spaulding, an eighth-grader, was named to the KHSAA Class A Region 5 Second Team All-Region.
