If the chances of getting struck by lightning are greater than that of making a hole-in-one, then Shelby Power may want to stay inside during the next thunderstorm.
While playing golf earlier this month at Fairway Golf Course, Power, using a seven-wood, aced the fifth hole.
“I couldn’t believe it at first,” Power said. “When I realized I had just made a hole-in-one I was excited.”
Power is a member of the Owen County girls’ golf team.
Witnesses of the feat included her teammates Lynsey Farrar, Aly Minch and Kennedi Dermon.
Power said she realizes how rare an accomplishment like this can be and especially for someone who is just 14 years old.
