Kickers capture Owen Invitational

It is said that defense wins championships. For the Owen County boy’s soccer team it was a pair of shutouts that led to winning the Owen County Invitational on Saturday. The Rebels defeated Spencer County and Walton-Verona to claim the title. The week began with a pair of tough defeats to Sayre and Frankfort. Owen County lost in a shootout to Sayre and dropped a 2-0 decision to Frankfort. The Rebels opened up play on Saturday morning against Spencer County; and Billy Patton opened up the scoring early in the first half to give the Rebels a 1-0 lead.
